Omega Foundry Machinery Ltd are proud to announce the signing of a multi-million pound deal with Silvan Sanayi of Turkey. Omega Chairman Mark Fenyes (top left) signed the contract with Mehmet Ozalp the Technical Manager of Silvan (top right) at the offices of Silvan in Istanbul.
Silvan are relocating their foundry operation to a new purpose built site on the outskirts of Istanbul and have made a huge investment in no-bake technology for the production of steel castings. BMM, Bisen Müşavirlik Mühendislik (Bisen Consulting Engineers, www.bmmpm.com) of Istanbul is the Project Manager for the turn-key handover of the plant. The investment includes two Fast Loop moulding lines with IRIS pattern recognition and auto mould filling, automatic pouring and cooling lines with mould tracking, a shuttle moulding system, Mobile mixer for pit moulding, three mechanical reclamation plants, thermal reclamation, chromite separation and secondary attrition.
Silvan has been producing castings since 1957 and is one of the best known names for steel castings in Turkey. It currently produces more than 10,000 tonnes of steel castings that are exported all over the world and used in industries such as cement, rolling mills, mining and crusher plants.
With this investment and continued partnership with Omega, Silvan intend to remain at the forefront of high quality steel casting production.
