Once a year, the picturesque coastal town of Portorož transforms into a vibrant meeting point for the international foundry community. From September 17–19, 2025, the International Foundry Conference will once again bring together professionals, scientists, association leaders, and decision-makers from across Europe – including Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Austria, Germany, Italy, and many other countries.
The event traditionally opens with a ceremony in the charming town of Piran, followed by an intensive program in nearby Portorož. With its combination of high-level technical presentations and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, the conference has become a must-attend highlight in the industry calendar.
Beyond the valuable insights from research and practice, participants especially appreciate the excellent networking opportunities – whether during the sessions, in small discussion groups, or in informal meetings by the sea. The conference offers the perfect setting to gain new impulses, exchange ideas, and forge international connections.
The grand dame of the Slovenian foundry industry
One of the driving forces behind the success of the event is the President of the Slovenian Foundry Association Msci Dipl.Ing. Mirjam Jan-Blazic. She was a former entrepreneur in the foundry industry herself, she brings deep practical knowledge, a global network, and an unwavering commitment to quality and innovation. Her experience and dedication ensure a professionally organized event with strong technical content year after year.
