The aim of the investment is to optimize tool changes on the casting machines. A Vahle LSV aluminum conductor rail system is being used, which is specially designed for operation in high-temperature environments. Another notable feature is the central mounting of the crane control panel on the girder, which provides better protection against heat from wall-mounted ovens.
Phil Rawnson, Managing Director of MRT, explains: "When we were planning our new die casting factory, a 12.5-ton gantry crane was a key component of the specifications. We need to be able to move heavy die casting tools safely and efficiently during tool changes in our aluminum die casting cells. The crane has played a key role in increasing productivity through faster tool changes and significantly improving safety in our new facility."
