Under the theme “New Energy Vehicles Driving Market Transformation,” the event gathered over 350 participants from Thailand, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Sweden. Industry leaders from die casting companies, technology providers, and research institutions explored new business opportunities and mapped out future industry strategies.
The conference was officially opened on May 29 by Pauline Lin (World Foundry Organization/China Society of Mechanical Engineering), Mongkol Aksinikul (Thai Diecasting Association), and Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr (King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, KMUTT). In her opening speech, Pauline Lin emphasized the crucial role of die casting technology in strategic areas such as lightweight construction and new energy industries, calling for international cooperation and innovation.
A highlight of the event was the formal appointment of Thai industry and academic experts by the China Society of Mechanical Engineering to strengthen Sino-Thai collaboration. Experts from the Thai Diecasting Association, Lyobi, ATA Casting, Ericsson, and MarcoXin Wheels were honored for their contributions to research, innovation, and industry development.
In recognition of outstanding support, the Thai Diecasting Association (TDCA) and KMUTT received special awards. Additionally, Adisak Banpot (Delta Electronics), Tanwa Longthong (Storemate), and Phromphong Pandee (KMUTT) were honored as “Service Stars of the Year” for their outstanding contributions to the die casting industry.
A central focus of the conference was the role of new energy vehicles in driving market transformation, with Thailand highlighted as a key strategic location for Chinese automotive manufacturers expanding into Southeast Asia.
