Formnext 2023: Supporting programme more extensive than ever

Formnext 2023 sets new standards in terms of content: the supporting programme will be more extensive than ever before and will deal with a wide range of industry-relevant topics. Among other things, the Service Provider Marketplace will celebrate its premiere and established events will be further expanded.

A highlight of this year's supporting programme at Formnext is the Service Provider Marketplace. The special show, organised in cooperation with Daimler Truck & Buses, is celebrating its premiere at Formnext this year and will use applications from the automotive sector to show how additive manufacturing can be used successfully and what role service providers play in this context. Well-known automotive companies such as Daimler Truck & Buses and Brose will present how they use additive manufacturing in their own companies.

Focus on sustainability: partner region Nordic

This year's Partner Region Nordic shows the economic potential of the AM sector in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. These countries are also pioneers in sustainability and, together with around two dozen Nordic exhibitors, will present numerous AM-based innovations and solutions. The central contact point is the Nordic Pavilion.

Young innovations and career opportunities

In addition, the supporting programme of Formnext 2023 includes established events that are in high demand and will be further expanded. The Formnext Start-up Challenge will take place for the ninth time and awards prizes for innovative and viable business ideas. The exhibitors in the Start-up Area will present themselves in short pitches during the Pitchnext event on 7 November.

Young, innovative companies will also be presenting themselves at the "Young Innovators" stand of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). On the Career Day on 9 November, job seekers can find out about career opportunities in the AM sector in the Career Area. For example, there will be a JOB wall, the new job portal AM-Jobs for the AM community and direct exchange with potential new employers.

Mechanical engineering, AM for beginners and international standards

The Additive Manufacturing Working Group in the VDMA, the conceptual sponsor of Formnext, is presenting a special show with valuable AM applications from the world of mechanical engineering. From the ranks of the approximately 200 member companies come additively manufactured components that enable new functions, contribute to sustainability or offer added value in supply chain issues.
For companies looking to enter the AM industry, the daily Discover3Dprinting seminars in cooperation with ACAM offer excellent insights and advice.

The BE-AM special show uses real applications to demonstrate the latest developments in the increasingly important topic of 3D printing in the construction industry. At the same time, the BE-AM Symposium taking place on 8 November will present numerous backgrounds and future developments in this field.

The topic of standards, which is important for the entire AM industry and users, will again be discussed by experts and decision-makers from all over the world at the renowned ASTM Standards Forum, which will take place in cooperation with the organisations USCS, ASTM, ISO and America Makes one day before the start of the trade fair.

Formnext streAM - the digital extension

This year, Formnext will again be supplemented by a digital platform. On Formnext streAM (www.formnext/stream), exhibitors' product offers can be screened and contacts and appointments (physical and online) can be initiated as early as 16 October. After the fair, the exchange can be continued digitally here until the end of November. A highlight of Formnext streAM is the opportunity to follow the Stage programme live and on demand with Formnext.TV.
