Formnext Increases Momentum: More Exhibitors, Content Highlights, and Focus on Service Providers and Sustainability

Also in terms of content, the world's leading trade fair for additive manufacturing and industrial production will set new standards: The Who's Who of additive manufacturing will showcase innovations along the entire process chain. In addition, the supporting programme will present exciting innovations and places a special focus on the topics on the topics of AM service providers and sustainability, among others. This year's Nordic Partner Region also plays an important role.

Contrary to the rather subdued economic development in most industrialized countries, Formnext is reporting excellent registration numbers, reflecting the high dynamism of the AM industry.

Renowned AM providers from around the world, as well as numerous startups and established industrial companies, cover the entire additive manufacturing process, including materials, software, design, hardware, production solutions, post-processing, and quality assurance.

Moreover, the already high level of international participation has been increased to over 60 percent, attracting even more international experts in industrial production to Frankfurt. This is further emphasized by numerous joint stands, including established ones like Hessen Trade and Invest, Bayern Innovativ, Berlin Partner, and IHK Chemnitz, as well as an increasing number of international collaborations such as Canada Makes, Nordic Pavilion, and the Victoria Government from Australia.

Special Exhibition "Service Provider Marketplace"
One of the highlights of this year's supporting program is the Service Provider Marketplace. This special exhibition, organized in cooperation with Daimler Truck & Buses, is making its debut at Formnext this year. AM service providers will showcase how additive manufacturing is successfully utilized with exemplary applications from the automotive sector and the importance of service providers in this context. Prominent automotive companies like Daimler Buses and Brose will also present how they use additive manufacturing within their own organizations.

Focus on Sustainability: Nordic Partner Region
The partner region for this year's Formnext is the Nordic region. Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland are home to leading manufacturers of AM equipment, material suppliers, and a multitude of innovative startups and medium-sized AM companies. Additionally, the Northern European region is a leader in sustainable thinking and will present innovative solutions in this area at Formnext. Numerous delegations from the Nordic region, including those from the oil and gas, fish farming and processing, and shipbuilding industries, have also expressed high interest and development potential for additive manufacturing.

Enhanced Diverse Supporting Program
In addition, the Formnext 2023 supporting program features established and highly sought-after events that are being further expanded. The Formnext Start-up Challenge will be held for the ninth time, recognizing innovative and sustainable business ideas from young companies. Exhibitors in the Start-up Area will present themselves in short introductory sessions as part of the Pitchnext event.

On November 9th, the Career Day will provide job seekers with information about career opportunities in the AM industry, offering job counseling and the opportunity to have a professional resume photo taken. For companies looking to enter the AM industry, the established Discover3Dprinting seminars, conducted in cooperation with ACAM, offer excellent insights and advice.

The Additive Manufacturing Working Group at VDMA, the conceptual supporter of Formnext, will present a special exhibition featuring valuable AM applications from the world of mechanical engineering. The BE-AM exhibition showcases advanced developments in 3D printing in the construction industry through real-world applications. The BE-AM Symposium will also present numerous insights and future developments in this field.

The important topic of standards and norms for the entire AM industry and users will once again be discussed by experts and decision-makers from around the world at the renowned ASTM Standards Forum, taking place in cooperation with organizations such as USCS, ASTM, ISO, and America Makes, one day prior to the start of the fair on Monday, November 6th.
