As one of the most important international gatherings of the foundry industry, the WFC will focus on new technologies, sustainability, digitalisation and advanced materials. Participants can look forward to a diverse programme, including plenary and technical presentations showcasing the latest research and innovations, poster sessions providing a platform for young researchers, as well as factory tours and technical excursions into Turkey's dynamic foundry industry.
Highlights
It can be confirmed that Professor Mark Miodownik, internationally renowned materials scientist and science communicator, as well as author of the book ‘Stuff Matters’, will be one of the plenary speakers at WFC 2026, bringing a unique interdisciplinary perspective to the congress.
A special highlight will be the networking events such as Foundry Night and the festive Congress Banquet, which will also celebrate two important anniversaries: 100 years of WFO and 50 years of TÜDÖKSAD. Beyond the technical programme, Istanbul – a city that bridges Europe and Asia with its rich history and vibrant atmosphere – offers participants an inspiring cultural setting.
