The Slovenian foundrymen Society is one of the largest and oldest technical associations in Slovenia. It brings together all the largest and medium-sized and partly also smaller foundry companies in Slovenia and a few companies from abroad. The association has been publishing the central professional foundry magazine Livarski vestnik for 67 years. For 60 years, it has been organizing a central foundry event every autumn - the International Foundry Conference (IFC) with a foundry exhibition in Portorož, which the professional public describes as the largest professional event in the field of foundry in this part of Europe. In 2019, the WFO-Technical Forum, which took place together with the 59th IFC in Portorož, contributed to the greater importance and greater recognition of foundry and Slovenia.
