The company Reichmann & Sohn is pleased about the good order situation within the "Casting Finishing" division. Ten orders of the S1 disc grinding machine will be delivered in 2016. The S1 serves as machine for automatically removal of joint flash and ingates on the periphery of car and truck brake discs and brake drums. Joint flashes always occur at these points when two moulds are being put together during the casting. Around 90 grinding plants have been delivered so far.
The S1 of Reichmann & Sohn is an extremely robust machine for automatically deburring in a frequency of five seconds. The S1 runs in three-shift operation at the customers.
Positive order situation in 2016
Regarding the current order situation of the S1 machine, 2016 is a good year within the Reichmann company history. This year, ten machines are being delivered to customers in Mexico, the Czech Republic and to one of the German leading manufacturers of truck axis and truck brake drums. The German customer already runs two of the Reichmann S1. The order processing from the order to the delivery take around six month. The pure production time of a S1 machine takes around four month.
Over 90 machines in 30 years
The S1 disc grinding machine is on the market for around 30 years. Since then the machine had been optimized and developed further. The newest model of the S1 is extremely easy to handle, has short changeover times and a NC-axis control. Since the market introduction, around 90 machines had been produced, sold and delivered.

Brake discs and drums, which had been processed in the S1 bevore, are being installed at well-known automotive and truck manufacturers worldwide.
