The topic of digitalization in the foundry industry can sometimes be quite unwieldy. Not so on this glorious Monday in Munich, the headquarters of Norican's Monitizer team.
Together with guests from internationally renowned foundry companies from the USA, Spain, UK and Germany, among others, Norican had invited to the workshop in Munich.

Charmingly moderated by Nina Dybdal Rasmussen, the participants were prepared for the topic of digitalization in a very focused way and prepared for the challenges by the keynote speakers Prof. Dr. Florian Schupp from Schaeffler, a visionary in terms of digitalization in the automotive industry, and Susan Bear, CTO of Grede USA.
Of particular interest were the views from the casting purchasing department of a Tier 1 company and the practical experiences of a large foundry group with a total of ten foundries in the USA that already use Norican Monitizer. It quickly became clear that there is no alternative to digitalization, but it requires a great deal of effort to involve and inspire all those involved in the process right from the start.
This requires attractive offers, as the colleagues from Norican Monitizer report, and the courage and commitment to go ahead. In the concluding round-table discussion, the participants were able to share their experiences and a fruitful exchange developed about the common challenges.
At the end of the session, Norican CEO Anders Wilhjelm was rightly pleased to say that digitalization is well on its way, but the journey has only just begun.
And then, of course, it was no coincidence that the famous Oktoberfest was taking place in Munich, a great opportunity to expand the new contacts and insights in the best mood and to celebrate together heartily. This is how work-live balance works.
